Last Saturday we went to Lake Alvarado. We had just heard of it and we wanted to see if it was a lake that we could go to and swim since it is pretty close to the house. After "winging it" with Chris' sense of direction we pulled it up on the map and found it through some pretty small back roads. It was a gorgeous lake, just the right size and reminded me so much of Blue Ridge Shores where I grew up. Well there wasn't a beach but there were a few picnic areas and the girls could at least get their feet wet. We had such a great day until JAKE (the snake) came to visit us...
I was going up to the car to get the towels when I turned around for some reason and I could
not believe my eyes. There was a snake about 3 feet from Chris and the girls. I screamed "SNAKE" and Chris turned around and thankfully he scared it away. It was such a scary moment for me!
We did have a good time and I would love to live on this lake but maybe not right there :)
